Taalhuis Uithoorn

For better Dutch speaking, reading, writing and listening!

Everyone who wants to learn or improve their Dutch language skills and who ticks the following boxes is welcome at the Taalhuis Uithoorn;

• You are older than 18 years
• You live in Uithoorn or De Kwakel
• You come from an EU- or EER-country OR you are already living in The Netherlands for a long time OR you already passed your Integration exam (Inburgeringsexamen).

We work with highly motivated and well trained volunteers supported by proper methods with whom you practice on a weekly basis. We’re a subsidized organisation and offer 26 weeks of tutoring for free. The lessons can be in a one-on-one situation or in a group, during daytime or in the evening. The group lessons are in the library of Uithoorn, with your individual volunteer you practice in a public space such as the library or at the city hall of Uithoorn (gemeentehuis).

Our activities:

  • Taalkamer: every Thursday (except school holidays) from 12.30 to 14.30 at the library of Uithoorn, Marktplein 65. The Taalkamer is open for everyone who wants to improve their Dutch conversation skills. So even if you still have to do your integration exam, you are welcome to join the volunteers. There is no need to register.
  • Taalcafé; every other week on Tuesday evening from 19.30 to 21.00 in the library of Uithoorn,
    The Taalcafé is open for everyone who wants to improve their Dutch conversation skills. So even if you still have to pass your integration exam or if you are already following tutoring at the Taalhuis, you are more than welcome to join the group for a two-weekly practice.

Participate?

To register you can come and meet us at the Inlooppunt (Walk-In point), every Monday afternoon at the library of Uithoorn between 14.00h and 17.00h. You can also contact us, preferably by mail at taalhuis@stdb.nl or phone 0297-230280 and ask for Claudia or Nici. Make sure to mention the country you are from and if you already passed your integration exam (if applicable). If you want more information or if you do not know if you qualify for the Taalhuis, please let us know as well, we’ll see what we can do for you.
